Not a suiting place for someone like you
"Ew" they said
You were beautiful
All of your feathers were in place
I especially liked the yellow ones right around your squinted eyes
It almost looked like you were smiling
You were like a statue in the most regal of poses
Like stone, but so soft to the touch
Rigor mortis
The sidewalk was no place for you
I picked you up and carried you, though they scoffed
They thought you were gross
I thought you were beautiful
I put you under blooming trees in the tall grass
You deserved better than pavement
You deserved to fly

I'm too soft
That's okay
Maybe I've cracked
That's okay
I just wanted to do better for this fallen bird than I did for the rest

I really like this piece. Your shading and lineart on it are something I am in love with here especially. The beautiful details to the feathers are excellent. The bird is extremely handsome, his pose is so very majestic and I love how you made his feet. I love the colours as well as he is also one of my favourite colour schemes. I certainly would have wanted to move him to someplace pretty as well. It reminds me of childhood.:blackrose:

I've would of wanted to move the poor bird as well. I once saw a dead cat in the middle of the road. I felt so bad for the poor thing that before it could get hit again I rushed it over to the grass on the side. It's sad really but noone else would have done it for the poor thing.
